This box is part of the Lovely and Amazing series.It is wrapped on the inside with surface treated laserprint copies from Ruth’s scrapbook collection of handwritten poetry. The outside is wrapped with laserprint copies of scans from Fabre’s Book of Insects (1937 edition) that have been tinted and coated with pigmented wax. Inside the box are several butterflies and moths, all protected with mica. There is also a cocoon on a stick, previously hatched of course. Propped at the bottom of the box is an inkjet reprint of one of Ruth’s photographs, glazed with gocco printed mica. Two plastic magnifying lenses, their handles metal leafed are on a wood support mounted on the back wall. The back wall of the box is lined with mica, seed fluff and butterflies.
